Sandboarding in Morocco — Glide Down Timlaline's Golden Dunes

The best sandboarding in Morocco is at the Timlaline dunes, located 40 km north of Agadir between Tamri and Imsouane. Unlike the Sahara dunes near Merzouga (which require an 8-hour drive), Timlaline offers real golden sand dunes only 40 minutes from Agadir city.

The dunes here reach about 80 meters with smooth, steep slopes — perfect for sandboarding for all skill levels. The sand is fine and golden, very similar to what you find at Erg Chebbi.

Sandboarding at Timlaline is like snowboarding — but on sand. You can stand up on a board, sit down for a sled-style ride, or go feet-first. We provide a free wooden sand board with every quad combo tour, plus wax to keep you sliding fast.

Beginners usually start with sit-down boarding on small slopes, then move up to bigger dunes once they feel confident. Our guides help with technique and take photos at the bottom of each run.

Yes — sandboarding is one of the safest desert activities. The sand is soft, the dunes are not too steep, and you can choose your own slope size. We recommend long sleeves and sunglasses (sand can spray on big runs). Falling is part of the fun and rarely hurts.
